College GameDay Returns to Penn State

ESPN’s Saturday morning show College GameDay came to Penn State for its top five matchup against Ohio State. The last time the show traveled to Happy Valley was in 2021 for the Whiteout game against Auburn. Hundreds of fans lined up in the early hours of the morning, waiting to get a front row spot with their signs to watch the show. 

One of the highlights from the morning was when the Nittany Lion gifted, on-air talent and former head coach of Alabama, Nick Saban a Nittany Lion hoodie for his birthday. Saban was given the outfit while they were live and once on break he put it on and wore it for the remainder of that segment. 

It was a great morning for fans to start getting loud early before going into the game to cheer on the Nittany Lions. Several of AWSM’s members had the opportunity to shadow the show, work as runners, or cover the event for other Penn State student media outlets.
